Kaleb's first day of Kindergarten!

I am really behind in blogging but I just couldn't wait to blog about his first day and share the pictures of him so I'm going to do something that would normally really bug me and blog out of order!(yay for overcoming OCD) So this whole adventure began last Monday the 22nd with back to school night. We met Kaleb's teacher for the first time and got to look around his school and his classroom. My impression of Kaleb's teacher is that she is very good at teaching and very kind and patient with the children. We were told that he will be on afternoon kindergarten. Kaleb also received a kindergarten survival kit from his teacher it was so cute it included a poem and little treats that said:

Starburst: You will be a shining star in school if you smile and always do your best.
Penny: To remind you that you are a valuable member of our class.
Sticker: We will always stick together and help one another.
Smarties: You are going to learn SO much in Kindergarten this year!
Eraser:  Remember, it's okay to make mistakes. This is how we learn.
Hershey Hug: We all need hugs now and then. If you need one, let me know.
Lifesaver: I am here to help you. Don't be afraid to come to me if you need something.

Ever since we went to back to school night Kaleb has been so excited for school to start every day he has asked when he would go. Tuesday morning he woke up and was so excited he wanted to put his new clothes on right a way but I had him put play clothes on so he would keep his school clothes nice and clean, We had breakfast played outside, had lunch and then it was time to get ready for school. We took lots of pictures and Kaleb just couldn't wait any longer so we left for school. We got their ten minutes early so we waited and waited and then they came out and unlocked the playground door. I walked Kaleb over to the gate gave him a hug and he half hugged me as he ran off towards the playground. It was so weird to just drop him off there and leave him. Raelyn and I seemed lost without Kaleb she was very hyper and acting all crazy and I kept looking at the clock to make sure what time it was, I was so worried I would loose track of time and be late picking him up. Finally 3:20 came and we headed back to the school to pick him up. It was kind of stressful with how many kids and parents were all there but we were easily able to spot Kaleb and safely get him in our car. He talked a little about his first day but now a whole lot, I do know for sure that he loved it and is already making friends!

So excited!

And to show how much they have grown this is from last year when Kaleb started preschool....

My First Sewing Project!

I got my sewing machine back in June for my birthday and this past Saturday was the first time I used it, sad I know. We have been so busy with the move and getting settled, work, etc, that I haven't had time to get together with my mother in law and learn how to sew.  April and I went on wednesday night to pick out the fabric, We both ended up picking up the same one saying "look how cute" I knew for sure it was the right one.  I have been wanting to make Raelyn an apron for a very long time, she loves to help me cook and bake. On saturday I got my machine out of the box for the first time and learned all about it and started sewing. I am not very good at it and am very slow but I hope with a lot of practice I get better and faster at it. I really enjoy it and hope that it's something I can end up being good at. I am so thankful for all the patience April had with me she helped me so much and taught me a lot! Raelyn got her apron on sunday and loved it she said she couldn't wait to put it on and start cooking, she also added that she can only help me if I keep it clean for her, I'll have to make sure I keep up on the laundry for her! Today the kids and I made no bake cookies and of course she wore it and has had it on all day long while she played.

Camping with the kids!

Blade and I have been so excited to take the kids camping. They went once with us last year with my parents and we all stayed in their trailer so this year would be the first for just the four of us and staying in a tent. I scheduled off this weekend so we could take them. We of course went to Scofield. A few days before we left I checked the weather and friday and saturday looked good but saturday night into sunday was supposed to get very cold so we decided to only go over night. Blade had to work friday so while he was at work the kids and I got everything packed and loaded up into the pilot. As soon as Blade got home and we had lunch we headed up. Once we got their we set up our camp site, got a fire going for dinner, and ate dinner. The kids were in love with being in the mountains. We made hobo dinners and the kids loved them. Then we made smores and they were so yummy! After our yummy desert we played around for a little bit and then put the kids to bed before it got too dark. I thought bed time would be a big fight but I guess all the playing and helping mom pack wore them out, they went right to sleep. They next morning we woke up, had breakfast and headed to the lake. We fished for about 2 hours and Blade was the only one able to catch a fish. After fishing we headed back to our campsite and had roasted hot dogs for lunch. We decided to pack everything up after lunch and go for a drive to see if we could see deer. We weren't able to see any, but we did do a little four wheeling in our pilot and found out that Raelyn hates it as much as her mommy does, and that Kaleb loves it as much daddy does. It was such a great weekend and we all loved it! I can't wait for many more years of us camping as a family!

Raelyn Loved playing in the dirt.

Day 28: What if you were pregnant or got someone pregnant, what would you do?

It's so funny that this is my blog post for today, I had to take Kaleb to the Dr today for his kindergarten check up and vaccines. It was the first time I have been back to my Dr's office since the miscarriage. It brought back a lot of those bad memories. As we were walking into the Dr office Kaleb turns to me and asks "When will you be pregnant mom" He has been asking stuff like this a lot lately so I always tell him " When the time is right God will send us a baby" He also asked, like he does every time this comes up, "Why did the baby have to go back to heaven?" I haven't learned what to say all I could say to him today was " I don't know Kaleb it just did, sometimes it just happens that way." I really never expected that this would affect the kids so much to go through something like this. I feel so guilty for ever telling them I was pregnant but I really didn't expect a miscarriage. They talk about it a lot and I can tell that it still makes them sad, At the same time I think it is good that they can see that life isn't always perfect and happy and sometimes things don't go the way you want. So that brings me to what if I was pregnant? If or when I get pregnant again I think I will be very happy but very nervous at the same time. I think any little ache or pain will terrify me. I think that when I do get pregnant I will keep the news just between Blade and I until I make it further along than I was. As much as I want a baby I so scared to go through a pregnancy I wish I could just fast forward time and have a baby  in my arms, but I know no matter what I have to go through having a baby is worth all the risk, all the nerves and stress.

Tim McGraw Concert!

On Saturday Aug 6th we went to the Tim McGraw concert at the Usana Amphitheater in West Valley. I have been so excited for this since we go the tickets. I absolutely love Tim McGraw. I have been listening to him since I was just a little girl. We went with Haley, a girl she works with Kristen ( Not sure on spelling) and her friend Sam. We all went to dinner at Costa Vita first then headed up. We left American Fork around 5 or 5:30 so I thought we had plenty of time to make it, I was so wrong, traffic was horrible driving up the road to Usana. We spent an hour going 10 miles or less. We missed the first opening act, A Band name Parry. When we got their Luke Bryant was playing and he was really good I didn't realize how many songs I knew by him. Since we had a DD ( Designated Driver) Blade, Haley, and I quickly got our wristbands showing that we are over 21 and found the beer. I don't drink all that often especially beer but when we are out at a concert and have a responsible driver it's very nice to have a few drinks and just relax and have a good time. Tim McGraw came on about 8 and as always put on such a good show. I saw him last year also and both times did amazing! It was a nice getaway and a nice time with the hubby and bff, and to meet some new people! If anyone likes country I highly suggest seeing Tim McGraw if you have the chance not only does he put on a good show he is so sexy!

Boys Day/Girls Day

Last year when I had my bridal shower Raelyn went with me and I explained to her it was a girls day thing and Kaleb went with Blade bowling and had a boys day. Since then the kids have been asking to have another boys/girls day. We were finally able to make it happen this past saturday. Blade and Kaleb went fishing. Blade was so excited to go that he woke up at 5 am got everything all ready and in the car and woke Kaleb up and got him dressed and they made it to Scofield by 7. Of course they immediately began fishing. Blade caught his fish first and then Kaleb caught 2 fish and got the biggest fish out of the 3, he is 5 years old and already out fishing his dad! They had breakfast there and lunch and just spent the day fishing and talking and having fun with each other. They left the lake around 1 to head home, as they were leaving Kaleb said to Blade "Thanks for the boys day, you are the best daddy in the world" I couldn't have said it better myself! Kaleb was sound asleep as soon as he was buckled in his seat. I'm so thankful they have bonded and become as close as they have and can spend special days together like that.
Raelyn and I decided to go get manicures and pedicures for our girls day. She loves it when I paint her nails and I knew she would love going and getting them done. I had to work that day so my mom watched her and then when I got off work the 3 of us headed over to the nail salon. Raelyn loved it from minute one. She picked out her own color and sat on my lap and put her hands and feet in the water. She is such a little princess and loves to be pampered, what girl doesn't? She is so proud of her nails and shows them off to everyone. I may have started a bad thing because she is already asking when we can go again. I guess it gives me a good excuse to get my nails done more often! I forgot my camera at home so I didn't get pictures of it but I will for sure the next time we go!
